Lindsay is born and bred in Rochester, and her love of the Flower City and Finger Lakes region shines through everything she does. She is passionate about raising her young son to appreciate the beautiful diversity of urban living and lake life - complete with trips to their favorite parks, coffee shops, and toddler-friendly local hangs.
Lindsay graduated with a BA in English and Communication from SUNY
in 2008, and Nazareth College in 2009 with her Masters of Science in Adolescent Education. She immediately began teaching special education in the Rochester City School District. Her and her then-boyfriend-now-husband bought a home in the city, where they still live with their son, two dogs, and a cat, and a cottage on Canandaigua Lake that they rent all summer long.
From October 2013 to March 2014, Lindsay completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. In the fall of 2014, Lindsay began her longest running career venture to date - teaching yoga at Midtown Athletic Club. She specializes in power vinyasa.
Lindsay left the RCSD for four years, teaching for a year in the burbs before Instructional Coaching with BOCES 2. During that time, she got engaged, married, and pregnant. Lindsay leaned heavily on prenatal yoga as a way to be still and connect to both her child and her breath. After having her son in March 2018, Lindsay returned to yoga just three weeks later, anxious to use her practice to navigate her transformation into motherhood.
Lindsay went back to her Instructional Coaching position when her son was six months old at the start of the 2018-2019 school year. In the months that followed, she attended a Birth Doula training through DONA International, joined the Doula Cooperative of Rochester, and began working with Beautiful Birth Choices - teaching Baby & Me Yoga, running postpartum and parenting groups, and accepting doula clients. Once the school year was over, she resigned from her full-time position with BOCES 2 and fully embraced her new life working with pregnant people, new parents, and their little ones.
